Camping Trip & Giveaway!

This week we're on our annual week long camping trip! This is my favorite trip of the year. Not only is it rejuvenating (since we're in nature all week long), but it really gives me the balance that I need to get me through the remainder of the year. It's actually our Anniversary on June 21! So every year to celebrate our anniversary, we go on a week long camping trip. This is year number "7"! I feel so fortunate and blessed to have married my soul mate and best friend. I am so grateful to have him in my life. Happy 7th Anniversary Dan!! This pic was from our camping trip last year. We went camping along the Northern Oregon Coast and the Columbia Gorge. Here's Dan and Tyler while hiking along one of the many beautiful trails along the Historic Highway.

I was pregnant with Zoe at the time. That day we hiked up a mountain 1 1/2 miles from one waterfall to another named "Fairy Falls". I just kept pushing myself, because I wanted to see "Fairy Falls" so badly-lol!!

I know it'll be a bit harder hiking with her that far this year since she's a bit heavier than what she was at that point-lol!
I share all about our camping adventure when we get back.
Until then...while spring cleaning, I found an old cookbook that I never used and would like to give away to someone who would use it. There are some great recipes, but I'm just more into either vintage cookbooks or rustic cookbooks. So this one goes!

The last day to post a comment will be 6/20 at midnite. I will announce the winner on June 21st-Our Anniversary! All you have to do is share your most memorable anniversary story. If you're not married, you can share your most memorable or romantic date.

I know it's just a used book, but I myself would really love to hear some of "your" most treasured moments. Good luck!

  1. hi! just found your blog. love the books on your bookshelf, btw.

hmm...favorite anniversary was our 5th - we had a 3 yr old and a 1 yr old, and were looking forward to a night out, just the two of us, but instead, ended up filling in in a pinch and spent the night babysitting for our friends' TEN children while they went out for their 25th wedding anniversary. it was a wonderful time - we got to play games and bake cookies and it was so much more fun running around their farm with 9 of their ten plus our two. An unexpected blessing, and far more fun than a boring dinner at a stuff restaurant by ourselves!

  2. Oh, I adore camping! I love the picture of you pregnant with your family, so beautiful!
Hmmm...since having our children we have mostly included them in a yearly trip on our anniversary to the spot we were married. A little stone barn with white lights strung around, a jazz band playing as we looked out the big windows to the ocean and flowers all around. Then to the stone jetty to walk "into" the Ocean where our pictures were taken, next stop the vineyard to sample grapes wine and cheese a picnic among the grapes (where we had more pictures during our wedding)This is the trip we take each year in memory of our wedding day to share with our children.

  3. Chris and I are still newbies at the anniversary business. Our first one landed a month after Clay was born. My father and Ernestine offered to babysit so we could go on a date. I was a nervous wreck. The plan was pretty standard. We were going to go out to dinner and then a movie. When we got to the resturant I knew I could not enjoy sitting through a movie without Clay. We decided to eat slowly and order dessert. So for my first wedding anniversary I ate slowly enough to taste my food for the first time in a month and ordered a slice of chocolate cake. We did enjoy our time together, but could not wait to get back to our baby boy. Happy Anniversary Rose and Dan!
