The Pumpkin Patch

Every year we go to our favorite local pumpkin patch here in the valley, "The Bear Creek Pumpkin Patch". I have to admit...it doesn't quite feel like autumn until we come here and kick it off-lol! Ok, so it's really more of a tradition, but it is our favorite pumpkin patch.

Here's to sharing pics from our trip today.
We started coming here since Tyler was 7 or 8 months old. So this is his 3rd year and Zoe's 1st.
Here's a pic from Tyler's 1st year here.
Now here's Zoe's 1st year here :D

The kids had a great time! I made Tyler this crochet pumpkin hat last year. I think next year I'll make Zoe one to match.
Zoe before storytime...

Here they are having a straw sword fight, going through the corn maze, and making maize...

Here's Tyler the Pumpkin King!

Happy Autumn!!!

  5. They have a pumpkin patch in Snohomish Wa.
I used to go w/Jill when she took the daycare kids, always a blast. This reminds me of how much fun it is to pick out your own "perfect" pumpkin. In Snohomish they had a beginning speaker that told all the kids (as they sat on hay bails) to watch out for Mr Mouse and if anyone sees him please tell the pumpkin man. The kids would play and look at all the pumpkins always watching for Mr Mouse.
My grandbabies look like they are quite content amongst the pumpkins!! Maybe your future holds a pumpkin patch.
    Next, all the pumpkin recipies.
Remember, pumpkin is a squash. Bake the whole thing until tender, peel off the skin, take out the guts, use the meat however!! I usually just make pumpkin pie filling and freeze it in tupperwear. It is available for pies, breads, pumpkin squares, like I said, for pumpkin whatever. One pumpkin makes many a tupperwear container full, that way you have it available, enough for one pie in each container, easy to store, etc.
ahhh, Autumn, always my favorite. Weather wise, leaves are beautiful, and the season is changing. Change means growth, growth means life.
Those babies are just to cute!!!
    love,
    mom/grandma/the cook
